A while back I was logging my prayers in another app. Forty days straight, five a day, some nights tahajjud too.
Then one day I just couldn’t, and it put me back to zero. I stopped opening it after that.
So I made the one I wanted. Duluk keeps the count. One hard day takes nothing away from the forty before it, and the day after, you just log the next prayer.
If you pray two or three a day and want to get to all five, I made this for you.
What it will never do
- Take a prayer away. The count only goes up. There’s no streak to break.
- Grade a prayer. It writes down what you prayed and when you logged it. The app records, it does not rule.
- Charge you to log. The free app is the whole logger. Paying is for keepsakes.
- Look at your prayers. No account, no server of mine. Your prayers never leave your phone.
- Add a step. One tap per prayer. Anything more needs a good reason.
Why it’s called Duluk
Dulūk ash-shams is the sun’s decline, from Al-Isra 17:78: keep up prayer from the sun’s decline until the dark of night. The icon is that sun, low over the hills.
Who’s making it
Me, Arham. I build it and post about it as I go on @duluk.app. If something in it gets in your way, message me there.
